Millie Smith lived in Wells where she worked as a cook at the Cariboo Gold Quartz Hospital. She married Colin Campbell, a miner (at CGQ?) and they had one son, Peter, who died at age 17.
Scope
and Contents
The collection includes letters written to Millie Smith. The bulk of the letters date from 1940 and 1941, with one letter dated 1944 and another is written in 1967. The majority of the letters are from Agnes Macdonald, in Scotland. She describes retionain and wartime conditions. The other main correspondent is Donald Morrison (step brother to Florence Vear ?) who writes from the army camps at which he is stationed. Also in the collection are a newspaper clipping, an unmarked postcard and a book.
