Pooley Street, Wells. Island Mountain Mine in the background. The nearest building on the right was the Wells Museum from 1974-1997. This building was originally a Chinese Laundry and then the Miners' Union Hall. The second building was the telegraph office and attached printing shop. (possibly the Wells Chronicle building?).
